The 4th Annual Special Kids Race will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2015, at Murfreesboro Medical Clinic in Murfreesboro, TN. Special Kids is looking forward to another great year of over 3,000 runners and walkers coming out for our 15K, 5K, and 1 Mile events.
This race is all about and for the kids. Special Kids exists to serve Jesus Christ by caring for his children, and our race exists to honor those children. We hope you enjoy the day as a runner, walker, volunteer, sponsor, or spectator. But, most of all, we hope you leave knowing you have made a difference for the kids.
Special Kids is Christian therapy and nursing center for children with special needs. Our Murfreesboro-based ministry started with one child in 1998 and has grown to serve over 2,700 children from 18 counties in middle Tennessee.
We offer physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, feeding therapy, and nursing care. Our services have expanded over the years to include a summer day camp and orthopedic physical therapy. We care for children with special needs ages birth to 21 years who have been referred to our organization by a physician.

The best part about the Special Kids Race course? It's fast and flat! The 15K and 5K courses start in front of Murfreesboro Medical Clinic before heading down Garrison drive and out onto Old Nashville Highway. Both distances enjoy a loop through Stones River Battlefield, and the 15K continues on Wilkerson Pike to the Chamber of Commerce before a peaceful jaunt down county roads and back to the medical clinic. The 1 mile distance follows the loop around the Gateway Island pond behind Murfreesboro Medical Clinic.

Whether you're an avid runner or a first time beginner, we've got all the inspiration you need to cross the finish line! Special Kids would like to challenge you to run the race if it's your first time or to beat your time if you're an ole' pro. The course is fast and flat, the volunteers are tons of fun, and most of all- you're running it for the kids.
We love walkers! If you want to show your support for the kids, what better way than to get out there and walk the Special Kids Race! Walkers are welcome in any of our three distances- 15K, 5K, and 1 Mile. We do ask that you keep to a 15 min/ mile pace if you are doing the 15K or 5K and whatever pace suits your fancy for the 1 Mile. Get out there and grab a few friends to walk along with you!
Boy do we love our groups! Whether you've got a softball team, church group, co-workers, family, or your Monday night bowling league, grab your friends and create a team in the Special Kids Race. You can show your team spirit by making shirts and signs and even dressing up all together. It's easy to get your team started when you register for the race and to manage your group after you're all signed up.

Fill out our volunteer form, and our super duper volunteer coordinator will be in touch with you in a few days.
We've got 'em! The Special Kids Race has results from all three previous years (2012-2014) on our site for you to look back on fondly and remember just how much you've enjoyed the race in the past. Sigh.

It's quick, easy, and yeah, more than a little fun too. We'll be announcing the times and locations for Packet Pick Up after the new year, but usually we hold it the Thursday and Friday before the race. You can stop by to get your free race shirt, bib number, and goody bag and have a chance to mingle with our race director and Special Kids staff.
