Murfreesboro Medical Clinic (MMC) is an organization dedicated to providing the best care and boldly proclaims, 'Your health is our mission.' The clinic's over 500 staff associates bring 20 specialties to the middle Tennessee community. MMC's physicians and staff serve over 30,000 patients per month and over 150 new patients per week.
Since becoming a corporate Special Kids Heritage Partner in 2007, MMC has continued to grow its support of the children and families served at Special Kids. When the thought of putting on a race was nothing more than a pipe dream, the clinic stepped in and helped to make the dream a reality. They have lent countless volunteer hours in organizing the race, putting the event on, and promoting the race. Without MMC's support, Special Kids would still be dreaming of the day when thousands could come together to rally behind the families and children we serve. Thanks to the clinic, we've watched the Special Kids Race sell out with 2,300 participants in our first year and 3,000 in our second.
WHY SUPPORT SPECIAL KIDS?
From an interview with MMC's Chief Executive Officer, Joey Peay:
"It's one thing for the clinic's doctors to treat illnesses, but for Special Kids to be able to help children with long-term diagnosis is truly a blessing to see," said Peay. "I'm thankful that for the grace of God, Special Kids is there to help these families."
And we're thankful for you, too, Mr. Peay and all of MMC! Special Kids has the privilege of continuing to care for children with special needs, and literally could not do it without community supporters like MMC.
